Community Involvement

Canada is the most accepting place on earth. No matter where you have come from, there is a place here for you. You have a chance to become anything you are capable of becoming, do anything you are capable of doing and contributing anything you are able to give.

 But you must also take the responsibilities of citizenship seriously. The strength and health of a democracy is built on the participation of its people. You have an obligation to stay informed about your governments and vote in elections.

 Get involved with the political party or candidate of your choice.

Work for them during elections… Volunteer in the community…

Reach out to others through your place of worship…

Or get involved in your neighbourhood.

 You will be welcomed with open arms and your contribution will truly matter to your city and your new country. The day I became a Canadian citizen was a day that changed my life. With a firm commitment and a lot of hard work, it can change yours as well.
